During a weekend away at Natures Valley near Plettenberg Bay, South Africa a group of us got the chance to sit down and chat to Obie Oberholzer. He shared his journey from starting out studying at Stellenbosch to his Masters Diploma in photography from the Bavarian State Institute of Photography and then teaching at the Technikon of Natal from 1975 to 1983.
He had some amazing stories of his travels around the world, the people the culture and experiences while there. The story behind his book Ariesfontein to Zuurfontein was especially memorable and very moving. He is a photographer extraordinaire in every way and cant wait to see what new books he will be bringing out in the future.
