Photography Essentials: From intermediate to Advanced

This course is designed for the enthusiast photographer that already has all the fundamentals done and dusted and wants to learn more in-depth techniques and workflow to move their photography to the next level. We will learn gear, software, calibration and proper workflow as well as a variety of practical shoots, homework and a exhibition of student photographs at a gallery with some eats and drinks.

There is a total of 19 lessons spread over a couple of hours each during the 8 week period.
Lesson 17 includes a Game Drive at one of our local parks.

Students get to keep the prints from the exhibition at the end of the course as a mini portfolio:

5 – Colour: Wildlife
6 – Best Sepia
7 – Altered Reality
8 – Macro
9 – Best Creative ( PWL, Smoke, Water )

Lesson 17 – Sun – Practical: Bottlierskop – Game Drive

Lesson 18 – Tue – Theory: Post Processing / Publishing to Web, LR Mobile, Dropbox, Facebook
Lesson 19 – Thu – Student Portfolio Assessment/Constructive Critic/Test

Lesson 20 – Fri – Evening: Student Exhibition and Gala Evening 6pm to 8pm

Prerequisites for the course would be:

– A SLR or Mirrorless camera (with removable lenses)
– Adobe Photoshop Lightroom & Photoshop Elements or CS6/CC
– A good understanding of photographic terminology
– A good understanding of camera basics ( Shooting Modes, Focus modes, ISO, Exposure and Metering )

Terms and Conditions:

Students must be committed to class dates as missed classes cannot be caught up.
A 50% non refundable deposit is required to book for the course. Students are responsible
for transport. Light refreshments will be available during theory classes.
Depending on demand and a minimum of 4 students, theory classes will be run mornings
between 9am and 12pm or evenings 6pm to 9pm. ( Please email me to indicate what would
suite you best, evening or morning classes )

Costs:

R 9 850.00 per person, 2 or more people ( family members 10% discount )
The price includes, exhibition prints and game drive at park with lunch.
